I’ve been absent from my internets for about a month now. Life with all of its ups and downs, highs and lows, has swept over us in the last month. I’ve shed more tears in recent weeks than I have in the last ten years. I wouldn’t have thought it possible, but I have a deeper love for my wife and children than I did 30 days ago.
*We’ve said goodbye to a sweet young girl and a great old man.
*I’ve read some good books.
*I saw a great movie with my favorite actor. “Get Low” with Robert Duvall.
*I finally got to see Go Fish in concert. My kids loved it almost as much as I did. If you have kids, give them the gift of good music. Go Fish is a great place to start.
*I got to attend the 4th Annual Guys With Whom I Went to College Weekend. Ten marriages, no divorces, fathers of 26 kids. By the Grace of God we’ve been blessed and we’re beating the odds.
*I lost my mp3 player, my portable access to my library of thousands of songs, (a really big deal to me) and found it again 3 weeks later.
*My father retired from a 36 year teaching career.
*I haven’t been fishing.
I’ve had a lot to write lately, but haven’t felt comfortable sharing it here.
We’re still here.
Songs of the Weeks will resume soon, Leslie has pictures to post, and I’ll have story telling and opining to do.
